Evaluation and Quality in Library Performance: System for Europe

The EQLIPSE (Evaluation and Quality in Library Performance: system for Europe) project was funded under the EC Libraries Programme and addressed Action Line IV, theme 18, 'models and tools to support decision making in libraries'. The project consortium comprised ten partners, and the project ran from February 1995 - March 1997.

The aim of the EQLIPSE project was to produce and test an open software system containing quality management and performance measurement tools, based on ISO 9000 and the draft ISO 11620 standards respectively, which could support decision making in libraries of all types.

The EQLIPSE report presents the research process of the project, the conclusions reached, the keyissues raised and provides recommendations for further action in this area. It also included the final functional specification of the EQLIPSE software.
