Presentations

Departmental Sixth Form Day: March 2006 (Powerpoint, 4.47MB)
Over a hundred school students attended a Departmental Open Day. The eMapps.com project was presented as an example of current CERLIM research.

ALT-C Conference: Edinburgh, September 2006 (Powerpoint, 1.71MB)
This major UK teaching and learning Conference was the venue for an eMapps.com presentation. This explained the game concept and how the mobile technologies would be used. It also focussed upon how we intend to evaluate the impact of the game upon learning.

While other presenters were using mobile technologies or maps in their teaching and learning projects, none were similar to the work being done by the eMapps.com consortium.

Handheld Learning Conference: London, October 2006 (Powerpoint, 3.60MB)
A presentation explaining the eMapps.com games concept, and work being carried out with NMS schools was made at this international conference. It included a practical demonstration of how a video of the audience taken on a mobile phone could be uploaded to the game desktop, and placed on a map of the immediate vicinity of the Conference venue.
