JISC NSF International
Digital Library Initiative
The JISC has supported six collaborative digital library research projects
in conjunction with the National Science Foundation (NSF) in the United
States. The projects are the first of the NSF international programme
to foster collaboration between US researchers and research teams from
other countries, under its International Digital Libraries Research Program.
A new call was issued in late 2001 for a new programme called 'Digital
Libraries and the Classroom'.

A large programme launched in 1999, including a wide range of learning
and teaching related projects.

Managed Learning Environments
JISC is currently undertaking a large programme of work on the development
of Integrated Environments for Learners or Managed Learning Environments.
The programme covers a range of projects and information services that
seek to evaluate and pilot information & communication technologies
for learning and teaching and promote the uptake of IT-based application
to improve student support systems.
