Canadian Initiative on Digital
Libraries (CIDL)
The CIDL is an alliance of Canadian libraries who recognize the growing
importance of digital information, and who wish to collaborate to ensure
better use of digital information and better service to their users.
DELOS Network of Excellence
on Digital Libraries
Instrumental to the promotion of the digital library research and development
in Europe is the creation of the DELOS Network of Excellence on Digital
Libraries. DELOS is an initiative funded by the European Commission's
Information Society Technologies 5th Framework Programme (IST-FP5).
Denmark's Electronic
Research Library (DEF)
The DEF project is the result of a co-operative effort by the Ministry
of Culture, Ministry of Research and Ministry of Education. The basis
for the project is to be found in the government6;s IT-political action
plan "The Information Society for all - the Danish model" from
1996.
eLibraryHub
A one-stop integrated digital library that offers users - individuals,
businesses and community groups - a "personalized" experience
of having a library of their own.
FinELib,
the National Electronic Library of Finland
Acquires Finnish and international resources to support teaching, learning
and research.
JISC-NSF Collaboration
- International Digital Libraries
The JISC has supported six collaborative digital library research projects
in conjunction with the National Science Foundation (NSF) in the United
States. The projects are the first of the NSF international programme
to foster collaboration between US researchers and research teams from
other countries, under its International Digital Libraries Research Program.
MyLib
Seeks to catalyse the planned transformation of Malaysia into a knowledge
based society by introducing the Malaysian National Digital Library
New Zealand Digital
Library
The New Zealand Digital Library project is a research programme at The
University of Waikato whose aim is to develop the underlying technology
for digital libraries and make it available publicly so that others can
use it to create their own collections.
RLG
Cultural materials
Archives, libraries, and museums from around the world are making their
treasured collections available through RLG Cultural Materials. The content
reflects the richness of the human experience through time -- high-quality
digital versions of ancient maps, medieval manuscripts, handwritten letters,
drawings, paintings, sound recordings, books, and moving images from prestigious
memory institutions.
Russia: Institute of the Information
Society
An independent non-government organisation established in September 1998
on initiative of a number of professionals from different IS related areas
united by the idea of an Information Society development in Russia.

Cultural Heritage (NINCH)
NINCH is a diverse nonprofit coalition of arts, humanities and social
science organizations created to assure leadership from the cultural community
